Journey

From intern to Architect of Transformation

1991

Intern at IBM

The first step inside the blue giant.

A blind bet, with no sponsor: just the résumé of an enthusiastic young man who had dreamed of joining Big Blue since studying Computer Engineering at UAG. The dream came true with an internship at IBM as a software test engineer. So began a 33-year story inside the corporation — and the discovery that innovation is not a gift, but a daily discipline that is trained.

2008

First patents

Turning ideas into intellectual property.

After creating the Mexican chapter of the IBM Academy of Technology — backed by SR VP of Innovation Nick Donofrio and several mentors and Master Inventors — and after many lessons (what others call failures), his first patent arrived in 2008, released by the USPTO in 2011: US 8,010,615 B2, "Instant Messaging Multilingual Configuration." Many more would follow, but what mattered was breaking decades of zero patents by Mexican inventors.

2012

Global Product Manager

Leading product at a global scale within IBM.

In 2012, now as Worldwide Product Manager for Archiving, he led the global Customer Support Center from Guadalajara and directed some twenty professionals in the Global Talent Hub of IBM's Storage division worldwide.

2021

IBM Master Inventor

One of the few across all of Latin America.

After more than 15 years innovating and patenting ideas, he received his accreditation as an IBM Master Inventor. The plaque, granted by the Council for Innovation Leadership, recognizes his "Sustained and Outstanding Contributions to Intellectual Property" — signed by Arvind Krishna, CEO of IBM, in 2021.

2024

Maxwell Leadership Certified

Leadership certified at an international level.

In January 2024, after 33 years of service, he graduated from IBM. That same year he completed the Maxwell Leadership certification courses and, in August 2025, at the IMC in Orlando, Florida, he received his official Maxwell Leadership certification.

2025

Author — The Marathon of Life®

His philosophy, turned into a book (LID Editorial).

Throughout 2024 and 2025 he devoted himself to writing his life story — academic and professional, 33 years at IBM — and his life running marathons around the world since the age of 42. That legacy became The Marathon of Life®, launched on March 1, 2026 with LID Editorial, and which he continues to promote at FIL Monterrey, FIL Guadalajara and other international book fairs across Latin America.

2026

Author — Disruptive Innovation MID

The 3+6=10 method, published.

His disruptive innovation method [3+6=10] will become a book with WAS Editorial, with its launch announced at Synergy Unlimited 2026 and FIL Guadalajara 2026. The work aims to be the bible of disruptive innovation for entrepreneurs, business owners and leaders: stories, frameworks, practical tools and guides to turn innovation into corporate DNA — the "10" of the formula.

Today

Architect of Transformation

Transforming people and organizations.

Today he is devoted to turning vision into reality: servant leadership under the philosophy of John C. Maxwell, combined with innovative leadership powered by cutting-edge technologies such as Artificial Intelligence to transform companies and raise their productivity. A speaker and facilitator in innovation, leadership and personal development.

By the numbers

A life measured in results.

0Years at IBM
0+International patents
0+Marathons completed
5Abbott World Majors
0+Leaders inspired

"Made in Mexico → Created in Mexico." Forged in the trenches, refined on global stages.

The differentiating edge

Three pillars. One mission.

01

Innovation

IBM Master Inventor

Before the patents and the title, there were hundreds of rejected ideas. In 2020 he became one of the few IBM Master Inventors in Latin America. Innovation taught him that rejection is not failure: it is part of creation.

02

Resilience

The hardest race

The hardest race of his life was not a marathon: it was navigating major family challenges. Real resilience is not physical endurance — it is choosing to keep going when giving up seems easier.

03

Execution

35+ marathons

35+ marathons across every continent and 5 Abbott World Marathon Majors. Execution taught him that extraordinary goals are never reached in a single leap: they are reached one step, one kilometer and one decision at a time.

"Failures are milestones on your road to success." · "The marathon isn't won at kilometer 42, it's won in the training no one sees."
